What to sell, what to skip, and the package structure that funds hosting without pay-to-win blowback.
Monetize cosmetics, convenience, and recognition, never raw gameplay power. A working structure is three rungs: a small impulse buy ($5–10), a monthly supporter tier ($10–20), and one premium anchor pack ($50–100). Keep purchases inside Tebex, write the perks honestly, and read the platform rules before you publish a single package.
Safe and effective: cosmetics (vehicle skins, clothing, housing decor), convenience (extra garage slots, queue priority within reason), recognition (supporter tags, credits, Discord roles), and access to cosmetic content drops.
Avoid: weapons or stats for money, exclusive moneymaking jobs, pay-to-skip progression, and anything you would not print on the join screen. Pay-to-win revenue spikes once, then bleeds your population, retention data is unambiguous about this.
Stores fail from clutter more than from pricing. Three rungs cover every buyer type: an impulse rung ($5–10, one cosmetic, zero deliberation), a supporter rung ($10–20/month, a bundle of conveniences + recognition that reads as 'I fund this city'), and an anchor rung ($50–100 one-time, a founders-style pack whose job is partly to make the middle rung feel cheap). Resist a fourth rung until the first three convert.
Name packages like products ('Midnight Collector Pack'), not like tiers ('VIP 2'). Price-anchor deliberately: the $79 pack exists so the $19 looks reasonable. Bundle at a visible 25–40% discount versus buying items separately, and say so on the package page. Run sales at most three or four windows a year, perpetual discounts train players to never pay full price.
Conversion is a trust problem: show exactly what each package contains (screenshots beat prose), state delivery time ('instant via Tebex'), publish a refund stance you can honor, and answer store tickets within a day. A pinned #store channel in Discord with real answers outsells any banner. Chargebacks drop when buyers can find you.
Total donations is a vanity metric. Watch average order value, repeat purchase rate, revenue per active player, and attach rate on new drops (what share of online players buy within a week of a cosmetic release). Repeat purchase rate is the single best health indicator: it tells you whether you built a store or a tip jar.

Selling power and calling it 'donations'. Fifteen overlapping packages nobody can compare. Permanent sales. Hiding package contents behind vague perk names. Ignoring store tickets until the chargeback arrives. Copying a big server's store without their content cadence.
Build the store like you respect both the player and the platform: honest packages, cosmetic-side monetization, and a cadence of drops tied to your content calendar. Servers in the 100–200 CCU range with this structure typically land $2,000–6,000/month, and the spread is explained by store discipline and cadence, not player count.
