Frameworks: ESX, QBCore, Qbox + ox_lib

Real FiveM servers usually run a framework. A framework answers the same boring questions for every script: who is this player, how much money do they have, what job are they on, what inventory do they carry. This lesson reads like a translation guide. Learn the idea once, then see how ESX, QBCore, and Qbox spell it.

Each framework has its own docs and its own way of spelling the same ideas. Bookmark the ones you run. For a new 2026 server, start on ESX Legacy or Qbox; QBCore still works and has a huge catalog, but its core development has largely stalled, so Qbox is the actively maintained successor. is the shared library all three lean on. Note that , , , and are made by the Overextended community, not by Cfx.re; they are the de facto 2026 standard, not an official platform feature.
